The Centre of Excellence

Caribbean Electronic Payments has created a Payment Services Centre of Excellence that will transfer knowledge and skills ahead of the imminent arrival of ‘Chip & PIN’ payment mandates in the USA, Caribbean, and the remaining Latin America countries (LAC).

This will include Detailed Courses and Executive Seminars on all subjects relevant to the financial institutions, credit unions, governments, merchants, and public in the regions.

Approach

We are creating an educational facility, in collaboration with universities, to provide knowledge transfer about the electronic payment processing industry. We believe this will deliver an insight into a large global industry and many potential career opportunities to the community. The Center of Excellence will provide education in all areas of the payments business, the area of the Smart Card, the migration from magnetic stripe cards to Smart Cards, development of many applications for the Smart Card, convenient new ways to pay such as mobile payments, and ways to enhance the prevention of fraud.

We expect that organisations, credit unions, and banks will seek this education as it will bring many business benefits to them. Such an educational centre, together with a development facility for Smart Card application development, will provide employment opportunities, career opportunities, and income for the Community.

The Scope

The operation of a card based payment system encompasses many areas li. This scope provides many disciplines and opportunities for career growth. The Centre of Excellence will educate students, employees of organisations and government, as well as those employed by Caribbean Electronic Payments. Training our own staff will enable us to recruit locally and give back to the community.

We expect the Centre to grow bringing economic growth and prestige to the locality where it is established.

The Centre will also be chartered with the task of making the payments world more understandable to the person in the street and helping them to be able to make the best financial decisions for their needs.
